Cost: $1.50 per child (this includes lunch: popcorn shrimp, fries, and a pop)

Date for Advance Trip Booking: One week is all they need (to schedule for another server) however, it would probably be best to start planning at least a month before. They do need to know if children need have any allergies to make alternate arrangements for lunch. Red Lobster schedules for a class to be there from 9:00 am-11:00 am (the hours before restaurant opens).
Grade level: Pre-K - 3, higher grades are welcome but may not have the same engagement as the younger students will.
General Summary: When students arrive they will watch a 10 minute video that talks about Red Lobster as a corporation, their environmental obligations, and farming vs. wild seafood. Students then learn about lobsters (one is pulled from the tank). Students in groups of 10, get a tour of the kitchen and back of restaurant and then a tour of the rest of the restaurant. After the tours, students learn about seafood preparation. Students finish their trip with lunch provided by Red Lobster.
Curriculum Connection: Grade 3 Social Studies: Unit 3: Interdependence: Meeting the Need through Agriculture. (eg. Journey of a lobster from “sea to plate”).

Helpful Hints/One thing I learned: The Red Lobster website is full of interesting information about where their seafood comes from, and the process it goes through to get to Red Lobster restaurants. There is enough information on the website, that if for some reason the trip needed to be cancelled, a lesson/unit could still continue during class time.
