Grade Level:
The Regina Fire Department has many different programs. For pre-kindergarten firefighters reinforce Learn Not to Burn program. Elementary level offer day long workshops on Fire Safety in interactive centres. High School level conducts career and fire safety sessions for Grade 12 students from Regina’s high schools about fire prevention and firefighting as a career.

General Summary: (For pre-kindergarten)
All sessions are free.
Students arrive to introduction, followed by public education alarm (students see what happens when firefighters get a call.) They then learn about 911 and see the fire engines and various pieces of equipment. Firefighter then dresses in gear with an explanation. Children learn firefighters are friends and not be afraid of them. Reinforce fire prevention as well as what to do if they do get burned.

One useful piece of information: In order to take pre-kindergarten students to visit the fire station, you need to teach the Learn Not to Burn program. Program is free of charge from Fire Department and is a collection of eight lesson plans.
