Date for Advance Trip Booking: Cowtown representatives appreciate at least one month’s notice before attending the field trip to their location. They will accept bookings shortly after the one month period but require time to prepare for the students’ arrival.
Grade Level: Generally Cowtown field trips are for students pre-kindergarten to grade two. However, if you are interested in booking a trip for a higher grade level, call the location. They are very welcoming and are willing to accommodate.

General Summary:
Representatives from Cowtown will take over the field trip once the class arrives. Students will be toured around the main floor of the building and will have the opportunity to view animals and where they live. This will include fish tanks, reptile/amphibian/insect tanks, other aquatic life, bunny cages, and rat cages. Once students have had time to view the animals’ homes, a Cowtown field trip guide will have the students sit down on the stairs in the middle of the building. Here students will have the opportunity to touch or hold some of the animals. The field trip guide will discuss with the students what the animals eat, where they live, and how they are cared for. Students will receive small tokens from Cowtown such as balloons, tattoos, or colouring sheets. Students may also receive cookies from the field trip guide. Allergies will need to be considered. If there is a serious issue with allergies, notify the location prior to attending the field trip. Allergies for the entire trip will also need to be considered due to the nature of the trip.

Helpful Tips:
Cowtown does not require any specific number of supervisors or volunteers to aid in the field trip experience. They are comfortable with having no additional support besides the teacher. However, as the teacher, I would arrange for supervisors in order for the experience to be more engaging and safe for the students participating. I would also strongly suggest considering the allergies of your students before booking this trip. If there are many students within your classroom who have allergies to animals or even dust and crops (because the location also sells feed products), I would reconsider taking the field trip.
